Introduction
The evaluation of public policies that guarantee the sustainability of the Long-Term Care System in Spain is especially relevant at present, because the analysis of welfare is a central concern of economic and social debates. With an increasingly aging population, it is necessary to analyze those phenomena that can most influence the needs of long-term care, highlighting the influence that these needs may have on the development of the care system and the potentiality of the elderly's autonomy. The possibilities for this line of research are even greater if we take into account the opportunities that are opened thanks to the advances in the management of information and the possible design of large databases.
The link of the long-term care system with the development of the labor market in the area of care provision, or the analysis of the causes that may lead to the needs of such care (both endogenous like aging, or exogenous such as diseases or accidents) require continuous research that will lead to the elaboration of recommendations that are necessary for the optimization of the Long-Term Care System. All this is combined with the analysis from a budgetary and managerial point of view, both at the level of the individual and the organizations involved.
The workshop aims to analyze all these approaches as well as those that are likely to come out throughout the working sessions. We encourage you to participate!
